Wednesday Morning Downtime

Today I finally get some time to myself (and little A). I have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off for weeks now, and finally I get to just sit, if I want to. I am really tempted to take a nice long nap.

My parents are out visiting (and my dad teaches graduate level 2 week module courses twice a year) and that is always fun for K. We picked them up at the airport on Sunday and K helped make a banner to hold for them to see when they got off the plane. My heavens, was she excited to see them. She remembered exactly who they were and ran to give them hugs when she saw them getting off the plane. She waned to help Papa get the luggage. She wanted hugs and ran back and forth between them. It's always great when either set of grandparents visit, because K gets to have some 1:1 time with them. She talked and sang songs all the way home. None of us could really get in a word edgewise! The children & I had lunch on Monday w/ Grandmama & Papa at Sweet Tomatoes d they both loved it. K ate tons of things that she has never tried before, but her favorites are still broccoli and macaroni & cheese. It was a good time.

K has had her first hair cut. Her hair was getting scraggly and it was not all the same length because as an infant, she rubbed all of the hair off the back of her head. So, I trimmed it to shoulder length to make it all even. She posed for a picture for me right after we finished cutting her hair. She is still a cutie, but it sure makes her look like a big girl instead of a baby anymore. This morning she got "poo poos" on the couch, which I did not see, and I accidentally sat on it. Well, later I noticed it, thinking it was a carob covered raisin, scraped it off with my finger and that's when I noticed what it really was. Then, I had to change my pants, and clean off the cushion, and laugh a little.

Little A is growing like a weed and is so attentive to everything around him. He loves tummy time because he can lift himself up in "Cobra" position and look around. He still loves to cuddle and snuggle up close and that makes me very happy! Today he had a blowout in his diaper which got all over his pants and my pants, but the funny thing is that it didn't get on his onsie. So all I had to change was our pants (my second time for the day)! Ha Ha! He loves to be as naked as possible and, like is big sister, really enjoys sucking his thumb. I am trying to head that off at the pass, but only time will tell if I am able to be successful.
Andrew is still enjoying his job, and the Bible studies that he has been attending. We have had a great time while I have been on maternity leave, but that is about to end (this weekend). So it will be back to the normal grind.

I have recently invested in a used Spin Bike. After having tried many classes at my local gym, I have found that I am addicted to Spinning and the Spin classes @ 24hr Fitness. I hated it the first 3 times that I went, but after that, I just can't get enough. At this point, I cannot take little A to the gym because he is too young for their day care center, so I needed something to do at home that I am interested in. I love the Jillian Michaels Shred videos, but even then, I get bored. At least with my Spin Bike, I can choose my own tunes and get different "rides" off of the internet. I found a cool site called spinfreak.com which has all kinds of rides, and suggestions of music to go with it. I am in love!
Well, little A needs to eat again so that will be all for today! TTFN...
